Grotto is a Denver based electronic and acoustic duo. Nate Ball takes control of the beat with over 10 years of experience in jazz, rock, funk, R&B, hip-hop and more. Dan Taro has background in both piano and guitar; currently he plays controllers, arranges, composes, samples, and records the environment and anything else that he can get his hands on. He has been working on electronic music for over five years now.

 

Grotto's first album straddles the complexity of IDM, the structure and improvisation of jazz, and the sounds of Eno’s ambient music. Written over the course of three years, the album has been condensed, curated and scrutinized over; it was recorded mostly in Dan’s home studio.

 

While composing takes a lot of our time, we spent the last few years playing shows at Denver’s mainstay venues including the 7th Circle Music Collective and the Museum of Contemporary Art among many house shows in both Denver and Boulder.
